$5 for Pennsylvania!

A message today for all of Hillary's many supporters from Bill Clinton:

Dear Reader,

The people who count Hillary out of this race don't know her the way you and I do.

Do we have an uphill battle to fight? You bet we do. We face an opponent who has a virtually unlimited war chest, who is breaking records to spend whatever it takes to win.

But I know that with Hillary leading the way and your strong support behind her, we can get the job done and we can win.

Hillary doesn't care what the pundits say. She's listening to you. And that's why you need to speak out loud and clear and tell her today -- just 11 days until the next big primary in Pennsylvania -- that she has your support. As little as $5 can make a difference. If you haven't given online before, now is the time.

Contribute $5 today to help Hillary keep fighting and winning.

I talk to people every day who want to know whether Hillary is going to go the distance. I tell them all the same thing -- if you knew Hillary like I do, you'd know she is in this race to win.

Hillary's a fighter.

She's fighting now to ensure that millions of Americans have the chance to make their voices heard -- and making sure Michigan and Florida aren't counted out. And as our president, she's going to fight for the American dream that we all share.

But first, we have an uphill battle to fight together, starting in Pennsylvania. Right now, the Obama campaign is spending an unprecedented $2.2 million per week on TV ads in the Keystone state -- an amount one Pennsylvania strategist called "unbelievable."

With just 11 days until voters go to the polls, we can't afford to be outspent. Every day the ground shifts; every day there's a new twist in this race. Now is the moment when your support will count for the most. Now is the moment when Hillary needs you fighting by her side.

Contribute $5 now to help us match the Obama campaign ad-for-ad in these final days before the Pennsylvania primary.

Thank you so much for all you do for our campaign -- let's keep working until we put Hillary in the White House!

Sincerely,

Bill Clinton

But if you can afford $5 more, please contribute today to help Hillary keep fighting and winning.

First Victory in Pennsylvania - then on all the way to Victory in Denver!

Recc'd (none / 0)

While I support Obama, I find it refreshing that Clinton is going after small donors.

I only hope that, after she pays her bills, Clinton is as generous to the DNC and downticket races.

Re: Recc'd (none / 0)

Thank you.

Both candidates have indeed a healthy number of small donors; a very good sign for the party's future. And Hillary, bringing out women en masse, will be an enormous asset for the down ticket races.

I would donate a $100 , if Bill Clinton can be more savy with his mouth.

You would think that if hillary was so confident in her candidacy, and her chances of winning, that she would invest some of her MILLIONS into her own campaign? So why isn't she betting on herself??

Re: $5 for Pennsylvania! (none / 0)

So 5 million is enough to last the rest of the campaign? That dosn't seem very confident to me.

Re: $5 for Pennsylvania! (none / 0)

You're against people powered politics and the probable Democratic nominee going after small donors???

Well, I certainly don't agree with you. I think it's great when our politicans are beholden to us, the people.

Re: $5 for Pennsylvania! (none / 0)

The "probable" dem candidate is Obama, and I am all for small donors helping to fund campaigns.

Not relevant (none / 0)

It's in poor form to bring up Clinton's money in this thread.  Personal wealth is, in most cases, not an indicator of campaign wealth.  Clinton still needs donors, large and small, to be supporting her; many (even her own supporters) think that her loan to herself was one of the biggest gaffes in the campaign.

Regardless, this is a positive diary, so let's not spoil it, shall we?

Remember, money sent to Clinton is not wasted if she's not the nominee; there's a good chance that she'll donate to the DNC or downticket races, and, failing that, it will go to her re-election campaign in the Senate.

Re: $5 for Pennsylvania! (2.00 / 1)

I just gave $10...$5 for Pennsylvania, and another $5 for my home state of Indiana.

No way. No how. No McCain.
