We Must All Come to Obama

I can see it now.
I was blind but now I see.
We must come nearer Obama, nearer to thee.

He is the Perfect Candidate. He has no ties that bind, no strings attached. He is only in it for himself.

It is his ego. And what a great ego it is. A wounded ego; an ego with something to prove. Wounded by Grandma and wounded by the absent Papa and wounded by every Typical White Person who did not instantly recognize Greatness when they laid eyes upon Barack. What better way to prove them wrong than rise to the top for everyone to see, first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen.

He has a strong sense of entitlement. It comes with the ego. A wounded ego; an ego with something to prove. The Presidency is his and his alone. No Grandma candidate shall obstruct his Greatness from asserting itself.

He has no controversial principles. In fact, he has no ideology. The Democrats are for Universal Healthcare - so is he. The Republicans want to privatize Social Security - so will he. Or not. Barack does not have ideological principles. It does not matter. He transcends principles. He will listen to everyone. Or listen to no one. By his Greatness we shall come together.

He transcends policy. Grandma voted for the War. He was against the war. Then he did not know whether he was against the war. Then he voted to fund the war. It does not matter. He transcends policy. The War was only used as an argument as long as it was useful to Barack. He is the Perfect Candidate. He has no ties that bind, no strings attached. He is only in it for himself. Barack shall end the War. Or not.

He transcends race. Grandma aches in the heart of the Great Barack. He is member of a church where racist sentiments are being preached. It does not matter. He transcends race. The pastor was only along for the ride as long as he was useful to Barack. He is the Perfect Candidate. He has no ties that bind, no strings attached. He is only in it for himself. Barack shall overcome.

He transcends corruption. He embroils himself in the Chicago political machine. Everybody knows Barack but Barack knows no one. It does not matter. Tony Rezko was only along for the ride as long as he was useful to Barack. He is the Perfect Candidate. He has no ties that bind, no strings attached. He is only in it for himself. Barack shall live in a Greater house than the house Rezko bought.

Grandma has tormented Barack his whole life. He runs into the mist to forget, but he returns from the clouds set on Revenge by Greatness. The Typical White Person is everywhere. Grandma campaigns against him. He calls her racist. He calls her a monster. It does not matter. Grandma never saw the Greatness in Barack anyway. He is the Perfect Candidate. He has no ties that bind, no strings attached. He is only in it for himself.

He is the Great Demander. He who is entitled. He who must be given.

We Must All Come to Obama.

Re: We Must All Come to Obama (2.00 / 2)

Creepy!? Perhaps you have been reading heretic stuff like this:

Politically bruised Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, slipping badly in national polls due to stinging remarks by his former pastor, digested a double dose of more bad news yesterday. A new Gallup poll has New York Sen. Hillary Clinton besting Obama by 7 percentage points (49-42) in a national poll of Democratic-leaning voters.

Repent I say, repent!

GET SERIOUS (none / 0)

IF YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE AN ARGUMENT, IT'D BETTER BE SERIOUS. STOP USING ABSOLUTELY MEANINGLESS POLLS THAT YOU DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND.

HERE IS WHY YOU PEOPLE ARE NOT SERIOUS (none / 0)

HE/SHE IS MAKING AN ARGUMENT BASED ON A POLL WHICH IS DONE 7 FREAKING MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTIONS AND FOR WHICH NO DETAILS ARE AVAILABLE. NO METHODOLOGY, NO SAMPLE SIZE, NO MARGIN ERROR. I UNDERSTAND THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE AROUND HERE ARE ALLERGIC TO MATH AND OTHER INSIGNIFICANT DETAILS BUT DOES NOT CHANGE REALITY.

Re: You're apparently not opposed to Caps Lock... (none / 0)

THAT'S EXACTLY MY POINT. HAD YOU SPEND THE TIME TO READ IT, YOU WOULD REALIZE THAT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DETAIL REGARDING THE METHODOLOGY. THEY ONLY MENTION THEY SURVEY LESS THAN 1000 PEOPLE. AGAIN, I KNOW MATH IS NOT POPULAR AROUND HERE, BUT LET ME ASK YOU A CRUCIAL QUESTION REGARDING ALL THESE POLLS: DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT "MARGIN OF ERROR" IS? IF YOU DON'T KNOW I CAN EXPLAIN YOU. IF YOU DO KNOW THEN YOU SHOULD REALIZE WHY ALL THESE POLLS CANNOT BE TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY. THIS IS NOT A PRO-OBAMA POINT. THIS IS ANTI-NONSENSE POINT.

So true, how he will fail this party in the end.  there are not enough blacks, and far left liberals in this whole country for him to win, he is a loser.

Re: We Must All Come to Obama (none / 0)

Look, if you don't like the candidate, post a substantive diary explaining why you prefer your candidate over Obama. You're not doing your candidate - or yourself - any favors by posting a poorly-executed stylistic parody insinuating that Obama supporters are cultists.

Seriously, this joke is as old as it is unfunny. If you're going to post empty diaries, at the very least get some new material.

I disagree, and have only one problem (2.00 / 3)

with the diary.

You should have put "snark" in the tags.

Great diary, I LMFAO!!!

I wonder how Wright feels knowing that Obama used his association to Bill Clinton (just a picture) to attack his opponent? Or how his grandmother feels about the whole country thinking she's a racist.

Re: We Must All Come to Obama (none / 0)

I have been critical of the quasi cult that some young supporters create about Obama.  That said, I really dislike this diary.

The use of the term "entitlement" reminds me of Republican code-words in the past that hid racist sentiments.  Maybe you don't intend that, but I recognized it that way.

Please criticize on issues.

Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are good, decent people and want the best for our nation.  They have few substantive differences on issues and are each far better than McCain.

by TomP on Sat Mar 22, 2008 at 09:44:46 AM EST

Re: We Must All Come to Obama (2.00 / 4)

"entitlement"?  So, it's not a code-word when Obama uses it against Hillary?  But it is one when used against Barack...how Quasimoto.

I find this quite the same as Alice looking down the rabbitt hole.  In the south there is an old saying...

What is good for the goose, is also good for the gander.

We should think about that.

The South is wrong again (2.00 / 2)

What is good for the goose can be used by the gander, but NOT by the goose.

Guilt by association is wrong - good for the gander, but not the goose.

Appropriating Bill Clinton words - good for the gander, but not the goose.

Criticize your opponent - good for the gander, but not the goose.

Complain of media bias - good for the gander, but not the goose.

At the start, I KNEW that Hillary would have to fight for the nomination with one hand tied behind her back.  I was wrong.  She's had to do this with BOTH hands tied.

The goose may have been "cooked" from the start!

The gander MAY (no, Will) provide an excellent November feast!

Cue threats of riots ...

But for now, cue up the "oh poor Hillary's victimized" snot remarks.  If Obama is criticized, it's a racial slur.  If Hillary is criticized, it's ..... good for the gander.

Re: We Must All Come to Obama (2.00 / 0)

I think you mixed up the names.  Here's Clinton guy James Carville:

"Mr. Richardson's endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic," Mr. Carville said, referring to Holy Week.

Yes, clearly Obama is the one with the sense of entitlement, not the "inevitable candidate".

McCain = Iraq. John McCain = overturn Roe.

Um, don't you think he means b/c Bill gave (2.00 / 4)

Richardson a job, and made Richardson one of his "disciples", and this is how Richardson paid him back?

Not such a terrible analogy, if you know the background facts.

Well, why not head on over to a Republican forum here. Us "sane" people can agree we like one candidate over another, agree to disagree, and still understand it's too important to give the election to McCain in the fall.

Hooray for John McCain!
